A Rickmansworth mum who recently had twins is continuing her campaign for more financial support for people who lose their baby before 24 weeks.
Taylor Kilgour, a 27-year-old bookkeeper, believes parents who lose their baby before 24 weeks gestation need more support.
Taylor previously lost a baby at 23 weeks gestation and said that, while her employer was very understanding, many aren’t and legally, it’s only if you lose a baby after 24 weeks that you are entitled to statutory maternity leave as a minimum.
Despite recently having twins, Taylor hasn’t taken her eyes off her target of getting the laws changed through her ePetition.
She said: “I’m busy and it’s been stressful having twins, but it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
“I’m still sharing the link to the petition every week, I think it’s got just under 2,000 signatures.
“It’s so important that new laws come in to support mum’s who have a stillbirth in under 24 weeks and I’m just hoping to keep gaining people’s attention.”
