Hillingdon has been confirmed as one of 43 areas in England to benefit from the government’s new neighbourhood health plans.
The borough will be among the first to develop neighbourhood health hubs, with local plans to establish three primary care centres across Northwood, Ruislip and Harefield; Hayes and Harlington; and Uxbridge and West Drayton.
The hubs will bring together GPs, community health, mental health, social care, and diagnostic services under one roof, improving access to same-day and preventative care while reducing hospital demand.
Speaking to NORTHWOOD&RUISLIPnews, Danny Beales, MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip, said: “I’m delighted that the government has chosen Hillingdon as a pilot site for new neighbourhood health hubs and provided much-needed investment.”
The initiative aims to form part of the NHS’s plan to deliver more integrated, personalised and community-based health services across the country.
