Oliver Dowden, Member of Parliament for Hertsmere, recently visited Flax’s Foods, a favourite local grocery shop in Bushey to support them in their bid attract new apprentices.
The shop, which is located on the high street, make a range of homemade goods, including a large selection of Kosher products and platters to suit any occasion.
Speaking after the visit, Mr Dowden said: ‘It was a pleasure to visit Flax’s Foods. This local shop is run by such a friendly team, who are always trying to provide the best food for their customers.’
‘I had the pleasure of trying some homemade treats, including a bagel and a piece of raspberry cream cake. They were both absolutely delicious and I heartily recommend trying them!’
‘I also enjoyed the chance to speak to many of their customers.’
Flax’s also gives back to their local community, most recently through helping with the collection of buttons, which is part of a project to remember the Holocaust, and through contributing to Mitzvah Day.
They are currently looking to hire apprentices to work in their shop and Mr Dowden added: ‘I’m grateful for the warm welcome I received at Flax’s and if you’re interested in an opportunity to work an apprenticeship, do get in touch with them.’
