MOTOR CRIMES: Bushey teen summoned to court for vehicle offences in Croxley

Published on: 14th January 2020   |   By: Geraint Roberts   |   Category: Uncategorized

Two people, including a 17-year-old from Bushey, have been summoned to court following alleged crime offences that happened in Croxley Green back in July last year.

The teen from Bushey as well as a 19-year-old man from London will have to answer to six charges of theft from a motor vehicle, four charges of interference with a motor vehicle and one charge of an attempted theft of a motor vehicle.

These offences were allegedly committed in Frankland Road and Bateman Road in Croxley Green.

They are due to appear in court in St Albans on Tuesday, February 11.

Detective sergeant Rob Muir from the Three Rivers Local Crime Unit stresses the importance of double checking that your vehicle is fully locked when unattended.

He said: “We continue to do all we can to crackdown on vehicle crime. As part of this, we need members of the public to assist us by taking simple steps to help ensure their vehicles are not a target for opportunist thieves.

“Always double check that your vehicle is fully locked and that all windows are closed when leaving it unattended. You should also make sure to remove all valuable items, including sunglasses and loose change, from display as this can attract criminals.

“Lastly, but very importantly, if you witness any suspicious activity around vehicles, please report it to police straightaway and always dial 999 if a crime is in progress.”
