This Christmas, while many of us will be staying warm by the fireplace, beaming with smiles as we open presents and play with our pets, for the Shutt family in Ruislip, they are missing a vital part of that picture.
In February, their family home was broken into by armed burglars who stole watches, cash and jewellery.
If that was not enough, they also took the family’s beloved pet, nine-year-old fawn-coloured pug Ozzie.
According to the family, when the police and forensics arrived, they unfortunately found no evidence of fingerprints, hair or anything which could lead to identifying the burglars.
Despite Ozzie being featured on news stories, TV broadcasts, and multiple shares on social media, the family has not received any promising leads to help find their beloved pet.
Speaking to NORTHWOOD&RUISLIPnews, daughter Serena said: “With Christmas coming up, where he’d usually be unwrapping his very own stocking before helping everyone else with their presents, we are more desperate than ever to have him home.”
A GoFundMe page has now been set up detailing Ozzie’s story and the Shutt family’s plea to have him home for Christmas, which has now raised more than £2,000.
The donations will go towards a reward for the individual who finds Ozzie, and the rest will be allocated to charities once he is reunited with his family.
Asked how the family feel regarding the support from everyone, they said on the GoFundMe page: “We are extremely overwhelmed and grateful for everyone’s continuous support every day. We are so grateful for any donation, any size, and once Ozzie’s home we look forward to you all meeting Ozzie.”
