Moor Park Golf Club in Rickmansworth has been chosen as one of three finalists for England Golf’s Tournament Venue of the Year 2024 award.
England Golf, which is the country’s governing body for amateur golf, announced in December that Moor Park was among the top three for hosting a brilliant Carris Trophy tournament.
According to England Golf’s website, golf manager Amber Rees was “thoroughly organised and skilful” in putting on the aforementioned U18 boys’ championship, whilst head greenkeeper Stuart Bertram was “as enthusiastic and committed as ever”.
The nomination was the cherry on the top of a fantastic year for Moor Park, which celebrated its centenary in 2023.
The other golf clubs to reach the final three were The Caversham in Reading, which hosted the U18 girls’ championship in 2023, and Shinfal Golf Club in Shropshire, which hosted the girls’ U16 and U14 tournaments.
