A young cricket star from Pinner has celebrated a monumental achievement, scoring his first 100 runs in an England match.
Aaryan Sawant, who played for Eastcote Cricket Club from the U10s to the 1st XI, gained a 100 run total as his highest ever score for the club against Ealing CC on August 26 2023, but has reached new heights with the national team since leaving the club.
Getting his first total over 100 runs, known as a century, for England’s under-19’s team in a match on against South Africa, the youngster had a day to remember on Wednesday, February 5.
England under-19s went on to win the match comprehensively, beating South Africa by 10 wickets.
In a post on Facebook, Aaryan’s current club, Middlesex County Cricket Club said: “It’s a special day for Aaryan Sawant, who today scored his first century in an England shirt.
“Sawant scored 130 off 293 balls for England’s Under-19s in their second Youth Test against South Africa in Cape Town! Congratulations, Aaryan.
