MISERY CONTINUES: Hornets seven points adrift of safety

Published on: 5th December 2019   |   By: Tim Green   |   Category: Watford FC

Despite a change in the dug-out, Watford caretaker boss Hayden Mullins was unable to inspire his side to a much-needed win against Leicester.

After the first half finished 0-0, Foxes talisman Jamie Vardy fired the home team in front after 55 minutes from the penalty spot after Adam Masina was judged to have fouled Jonny Evans.

The visitors were furious with the decision which was upheld by VAR.

The in-form Foxes had to wait until injury time to seal the game with James Maddison making the game safe.

Although there was an improved defensive display, the visitors didn’t register a shot on target until the 90th minute.

The defeat is Watford’s nine in 15 games and they have now failed to score in eight of their 15 games this season.

Watford take on Crystal Palace at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
