MIND THE GAP: Bushey train station one of the worst performing this summer

Bushey train station was one of the poorest performing this summer, new data has revealed.

The website On Time Trains has released its latest statistics on all 2,616 stations across the UK.

As of September 15, Bushey station was ranked as the 1,570th best. In the 12 weeks leading up to that date, 54 per cent of trains at Bushey were on time, whilst 26 per cent were one to two minutes late, and four per cent were cancelled.

On August 8, Bushey station was ranked as low as 2,539th place. Just 22 per cent of trains were on time that day, with 46 per cent cancelled completely.

When compared to the five nearest stations to Bushey, four have superior records.

Watford North was ranked the best, with 69 per cent of trains on time, whilst the only nearby station with worse statistics than Bushey was Watford Junction.

Bushey was also shown to have an average of 2,262 passengers per day in 2022. Whilst this was more than double than in 2021, it is still someway off the pre-COVID rate of 4,165 passengers a day in 2019.
