A meeting will be held for Bushey Residents tonight (September 30) to discuss the proposed application for a power plant. The meeting will take place at the North Bushey Baptist Church on Park Avenue, and will begin at 7pm. The meeting will discuss the recent application submitted to Hertsmere Borough Council regarding plans to build a small standby electricity generation plant on Green Belt Land. Local Resident, Lisa Gomez commented: “We don’t want this going ahead, in the winter the site goes under water; if there is a concrete building on the site there will be an over spill of water and it won’t be long until residents are flooded.” Also anyone looking to help out with the campaign against the power plant, they can do so by emailing busheyinfo@gmail.com Local Residents are also being encouraged to object to plans before October 2 by emailing a letter to Hertsmere’s Senior Planning Officer, Sharon Richards at Sharon.richards@hertsmere.gov.uk
