Volunteers from McDonald’s in Stanmore have banded together to combat the problem of litter in the area.
The team from four local restaurants conducted their clean-up efforts across a three-mile radius and were joined by former Mayor of Harrow councillor Janet Mote on May 14.
Hubs Baksi, owner and operator of the restaurants in Stanmore, Barnet, Borehamwood and Bushey, organised the environmental event.
Cllr Mote said: “We were in Stanmore to help kick off their spring Love Where You Live litter patrol where the team managed to collect more than 30 bags of rubbish!
“We enjoyed the tour of the restaurant and were able to see first-hand some of the great initiatives McDonald’s are doing in the sustainability space, from the removal of plastics in their supply chain to the introduction of books in their Happy Meals.
“Thank you to the team and Hubs Bakshi for inviting us to see how you are contributing to the improvement of the surroundings for the community by litter picking.”
