Watford have completed the signing of left-back Adam Masina from Bologna for a fee close to £3m, as Javi Gracia continues to build his squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The 24-year-old has completed a permanent transfer to Vicarage Road, having made 131 appearances for Bologna, 99 of which were in Serie A.
The Morocco-born former Italy U-21 international was named Serie B footballer of the year in 2014/15 in a season that saw Bologna returned to the top flight.
Masina will battle for competition with Jose Holebas and Marvin Zeegelaar, both of whom struggled to claim a first team space last season.
Meanwhile, Romanian goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon has left the club, after he agreed a permanent transfer to Nottingham Forest.
Pantilimon spent the second half of last season on loan at the city ground, where he made 13 appearances, four more than the nine he made for Watford after joining from Sunderland in 2016.
