A Croxley councillor who completed three marathons last year despite suffering an injury has upped the ante for this year.
Last year, councillor Chris Lloyd raised £5,000 for global aid charity Tearfund by taking part in several events, including the Edinburgh and New York marathons.
In 2023, cllr Lloyd will take on five different events: the London Marathon in April, the Edinburgh Marathon in May, the Chiltern 100-Mile cycle ride in May, a walking marathon between Wycombe Wanderers FC and Wembley Stadium in September, and the London Parks Half Marathon in October.
This year, he’s raising money for mental health charity Healthy Minds.
He said: “I am running for Healthy Minds at Bristol University as we had friends who had tough times when we studied there. I also want to highlight the importance of mental health work in schools and in the community.”
