An Chorleywood resident is preparing to swim the Channel this summer for Aspire, a charity supporting people paralysed after a spinal injury.
Father of three teenagers, Phil Wolf, 49, trains at William Penn pool in Rickmansworth. Once weather improves, he will use the lakes at Denham before braving the waves on the South Coast.
Phil is married to Nicolette (Nic), who trained as a curate at Christ Church, Chorleywood and St Peter’s Mill End. Together, the couple run a leadership communication consultancy.
Speaking to CHORLEYWOODnews, Phil said: “Nic says she’s proud of me for doing this, but our kids think I’m mad.”
“Aspire put me in a team of six. Not only am I the oldest, but I’m also the only bloke.”
“The worst bit about training is the mental strength required to get up early when it’s cold outside and having to swim 8km. But it’s such a good cause and I hope people will help me raise my target of £1750.”
