Following on from Last month’s edition of RADLETTnews, the hedge located on the pavement of Shenley Hill running down from Herons Court, down to the war memorial on Watling Street, has since been partially cleared.
Network Rail visited Radlett and was said to act ‘speedily’ in the removal of vegetation, removing much more than expected, although according to residents it had not been attended too in over 12 years.
However, it was confirmed that the other half of the infectious greenery belonged to a property developer who owned the private land.
Despite numerous attempts to get in contact, before RADLETTnews went to print, the residents were told that the owner would attend to his responsibilities when he returned from holiday, but this did not materialise.
A resident spoke to RADLETTnews and said, “This long-overdue work must be done. It is a danger to pedestrians. I do not know how long his holiday is going to last.”
A spokesperson for Aldenham Parish Council responded saying: “The council sold this land in early 2016, so it is not APC land.
“However, we have contacted the current owner’s representative, who has stated that they will clear the land soon.”
