LONDON BRIDGES: Kings Langley resident encourages others to sign up for charity walk

Published on: 9th March 2024   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

A Kings Langley woman who is taking on a charity walk for the second time this year is encouraging more people to sign up.

The London Bridges Walk is a family-friendly event that consists of two separate five-mile and 10-mile routes around some of the capital’s most famous landmarks and bridges. It is organised in support of Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care.

Becky took part in last year’s walk in memory of her mum, Dorene, who was cared for in the Peace Hospice Inpatient Unit at the end of her life.

Becky said: “Mum was diagnosed with bladder cancer in September 2022 and within a couple of months, we learned that her cancer had become terminal. It was then that we found out there was a bed available at the Peace Hospice.

“From that point on, mum got her dignity back.

“We decided to take part in the London Bridges Walk as a family because we wanted to give back and do something in memory of mum – that’s what she would have appreciated and wanted.”

This year’s event takes place on Sunday, March 24. Tickets cost £15 for adults and £10 for children. To find out more, please visit the website.
