Two local singer-songwriters have banded together to bring an exclusive programme of music events to Abbots Langley.
Set up by Ed Coan and Alex Scott, the Live & Local nights provide a platform for songwriters of all ages to debut their original music.
Over the course of this year, the duo has planned a series of shows at the Henderson Hub with original music at their core.
The events will be held once a month on a Friday night. The line-up will feature a headline act and will be supported by other up-and-coming original artists.
Speaking about why they decided to set up the events, the duo who are regular performers on the local open mic scene, said: “We both felt there was a need to create a specific platform for local performers who write and play original music as the scope to play new material is very limited.
“Most existing open mic nights are all based on covers, which is fine, but we wanted to do something different.”
Live & Local is starting to create a reputation as a ‘go to’ event because of its unique environment for mature and up-and-coming artists and has been well attended by local music lovers. It is also attracting musicians from outside the area.
The dynamic song writing duo has already put on several shows since October and will shortly be announcing the events schedule for the rest of 2022.
