A Watford-based care home manager has marked her 33rd birthday by cutting off 33 inches of her hair for The Little Princess Trust.
Jyoti Tiwari has been home manager at Brunswick Court Bupa Care Home for more than two years.
After growing her hair for three years, Jyoti decided to give her brunette locks the chop and donate them to a charity which is very close to her heart.
Residents and fellow carers were extremely surprised to see the transformation following Jyoti’s big reveal.
The Little Princess Trust is a charity that gifts wigs made of real hair to children and young people undergoing treatment for cancer or other conditions which cause hair loss.
As well as donating her hair, Jyoti was able to raise more than £100 for the charity to cover the cost of making the wig.
When asked why this charity made the final cut, Jyoti Tiwari said: “Having a three-year-old daughter who loves her hair so much made me aware that there are young girls out there that will have felt the same about their hair before losing it through cancer treatment or other conditions, such as alopecia. I hope that cutting my hair and donating it to The Little Princess Trust will make someone else happy and give them a confidence boost.”
