Children from a Garston school have shown you’re never too young to start caring for the environment.
The Alban Wood Primary School and Nursery pupils, aged eight and nine, walk to their swimming lesson each week armed with litter pickers and black bags. They clear any rubbish they find on their route to help keep their local area looking clean and tidy.
Head of school Hazel Pinder said: “At Alban Wood Primary School and Nursery, we’re incredibly proud of the initiative shown by one of our classes during their weekly walks to swimming.
“Noticing litter along their route, the children decided to take action by bringing litter pickers and black bags to help keep our community clean. Weather permitting, they now make it part of their routine to tidy as they go.
“This not only improves our local area, but also demonstrates our pupils’ commitment to caring for their environment and showing true community spirit.”
