A Croxley councillor has continued her campaign for cleaner water by taking part in the annual Clean Water March.
Councillor Cheryl Stungo joined thousands of residents and environmental advocates for London’s Clean Water March on Sunday, November 3. The annual march aims to stand up for stricter water protection and pollution controls across the UK.
Cllr Stungo, who spoke passionately about the need for change, said: “Our waterways are the lifeblood of our natural environment and community. We owe it to future generations to restore and preserve these vital ecosystems. Today’s march is a message: clean water must be a right, not a privilege.”
The march brought together people from all walks of life, all united by the call for government action to tackle the pressing water quality crisis impacting British rivers and coastal areas.
Thousands walked from Albert Embankment to Parliament Square before attending the rally. They heard from speakers, local activists, and celebrities, including Olympic champion Dr Imogen Grant, naturalist Chris Packham.
