Lauren’s rise to fame is continuing nicely

A rising music star from Little Chalfont is to release her new album later this year.

Lauren Ray had been expecting to release Women in the Arena last month but her record label decided to postpone the release to Lauren’s frustration.

Despite this though, Lauren said she is really enjoying life at the moment.

She said: “They say it takes 15 years to have an overnight success well I’m about ten years in. I ‘ve had some great opportunities supporting artists including Anastacia, Lucy Spraggan and Rebecca Ferguson as well as Paul Carrack. I’ve also played venues like the London Palladium.”

Describing herself as a singer-songwriter offering piano-led pop, Lauren said she is pleased with how her music has developed.

She explained: “I recorded my first album in Nashville so it does have a bit of an Americana twang to it but my second album has a UK pop producer which has helped me take my sound more mainstream. The new album will definitely be worth the wait.”

Lauren is currently in the middle of a UK tour playing shows in Birmingham, Newcastle, Bristol and London. After supporting some big names, Lauren is enjoying being the centre of attention.

She said: “It’s nice to be able to perform the songs as a solo acoustic artist and to headline shows. If I can get people to buy my music and come and see me then that’s an amazing thing to do. On a full headline tour, I can see where the fans have come from

“In the future, I still want to be recording and gigging in bigger venues. I enjoy writing for other artists and it would be nice to hear some of those songs as well.”
