Wealdstone FC suffered a surprise 2-3 loss at home against Royston Town in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy.
Second half Stones goals from Ross Lafayette and Jerome Okimo were not enough to cancel out Brandon Adams’ brace and Josh Castiglione’s first half strike.
The away side took an early lead after 11 minutes, full-back Luke Warner-Eley’s searching cross from the left found Adams free and he comfortably headed into the bottom corner.
Royston doubled their lead when Castiglione hammered a close-range strike into the roof of the net just before the half-hour.
Dean Brennan’s men came out with more intent in the second period and found a deserved goal an hour in when Lafayette converted Dennon Lewis’ cross.
Wealdstone found the equaliser 10 minutes from time as Captain Okimo smashed in a loose ball in the six-yard box.
As the Stones completed a second half comeback, Adams fired in Claudio Ofosu’s cross five minutes later to send the Crows into the next round.
