Kings Langley Community Choir Powers to Ten

Published on: 4th April 2018   |   By: Jason Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Kings Langley Community Choir has laid the foundation for its tenth anniversary year by recording its third album.

11 To The Power Of Ten includes eleven songs, many of which are established favorites in the Choir’s repertoire and some which are recent additions. Amongst the latter is The Fleet Foxes Sun Giant, The Mama’s ‘n Papa’s California Dreamin and the gospel song Trouble. The already confirmed audience favourites include Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, Elbow’s anthemic One Day Like This, David Bowie’s Space Oddity and Sir Karl Jenkins’ Adiemus.

The common thread through the album is that all the songs feature the Choir’s trademark layered harmonies, many of the arrangements having been scored by Music Director, Ben Crawley. The album is sponsored by local firm Cheetah Couriers & Logistics and will be available in May.

Recognising the ten year achievement, Dacorum Borough Council invited Kings Langley Community Choir to entertain guests at the Community Grant Awards in March. Hosted by Chief Executive Sally Marshall, and Leader of the Council Cllr Andrew Williams, the Choir presented a thirty minute set and was later complimented on the professionalism of its performance.
