A student from Bushey could soon be a household name after she set up her own business. Katy Spalter, who is studying Business at West Herts College, has created an innovative new brand selling one of Britain’s most loved products – tea. Katy Spalter combined her passion for health and knowledge to create KT London, a business selling fresh loose-leaf teas and tea filter bottles. After a trip to China in the summer of 2015, Katy was able to visit the tea plantation to source her teas and bottles. She saw a gap in the market where people wanted to drink loose-leaf tea on the go but didn’t have a bottle to drink it from and so acted fast and created her brand. Katy explained: “Our range of loose-leaf teas gives the consumer both extremely worthwhile health benefits as well as a good taste! We aim to substitute the everyday water bottle with a tea bottle constantly filled up with fresh loose-leaf tea. “Many people think that it is too time consuming to make fresh loose leaf tea, which is why we have designed our tea bottles to not only be able to hold your boiling water, but also for them to contain a filter inside so that the tea you drink is free from tea leaves.” Hear more about what’s happening in your local community in the December edition of MyBusheyNews, which will be distributed on November 25.
