A South Oxhey man has been sentenced to six months in prison and issued with a four-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
Kerry Crossley, also known as Kerry Reynolds, 41, of Prestwick Road, South Oxhey, was sentenced at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 18, in connection with being in possession of a knife in a public place in Watford on Saturday, September 21.
He was sentenced to six months and ordered to pay a £154 surcharge and £300 costs.
In addition, he was also issued with a CBO which sets out several conditions he must abide by for the next four years.
Once released from prison, he must not:
- Use abusive, offensive, threatening or intimidating language or behaviour towards any person in the district of Three Rivers or Watford.
- Act in a manner which would cause any person to be in fear of violence from him.
- Act or incite others to act in a manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person, within the district of Three Rivers or Watford.
- Be in possession of any offensive weapon or imitation weapon, in a public place in the district of Three Rivers or Watford.
Inspector Amy Tarver said: “We work hard all year round to tackle knife crime which was highlighted by the recent Sceptre knife campaign.
“This result should be a warning to anyone who thinks it is acceptable to carry a knife. If you do, you could end up in prison.
“In addition to his sentence, Crossley knows if he breaches the CBO upon his release, he will be committing a criminal offence for which he could be sent back to prison for or ordered to pay a fine.
“If you witness the CBO being breached, please call 999 straight away.”
