A Ruislip resident ran 100 miles throughout October to support his sister after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Adam Holmes’ incredible challenge included the Chichester Half Marathon and the Great South Run.
Adam set up a GoFundMe page, where he shared: “I’m on a mission to bring some joy to my sister, Sharon, who is bravely battling breast cancer. Chemotherapy has taken a toll on her, causing her to lose her hair. As her younger brother, I want to do something special to lift her spirits.
“Sharon has always been there for me, and now it’s my turn to support her. To help her get the beautiful wig she deserves, I’m committing to running 100 miles throughout October.”
Adam, who ran every day in order to complete the challenge, crossed the finish line on Tuesday, October 29.
On a post on his page, Adam said: “Thank you to everyone who has donated. It’s been hard work but totally worth it!
“It was great to finish it on our Monday night running club and to have ‘fans’ there to cheer me home really did mean the world to me.”
So far, Adam has raised an incredible £2,330, with nearly 100 people donating to his cause.
