A teenager has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder after shots were fired at an address in Bushey.
Almamie Jawara, 19, of Leveret Close, Watford, denied the charge of attempted murder at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday, October 29.
His plea was heard before he was remanded in custody until his next court date.
Jawara was arrested following the shooting in Woolmerdine Court in Bushey at around 4.25pm on Sunday, September 15.
A number of police resources, including armed officers and the police helicopter, were deployed to locate the suspect, who had made off on an electric bike.
Fortunately, no one reported any injuries but the teenage suspect was subsequently charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
At the time of the arrest, Hertfordshire Constabulary Detective Sergeant George Lewin, who is investigating, said: “This is believed to have been a targeted incident as part of an ongoing dispute.
“Residents deserve to feel safe in their community and I hope news of this charge provides reassurance that we take all incidents seriously and will respond appropriately.”
