INFO WANTED: Appeal for witnesses following an incident in Watford

Published on: 20th July 2023   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Police were called by the ambulance service at around 7.25pm on Wednesday, July 19, to report a man who had been located at the Woodside Playing Fields on Horseshoe Lane, with a wound to the leg. We are working to establish how the wound was sustained but it is believed a firearm may have been involved.

The victim is currently receiving treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

An extensive search of the area was carried out, with assistance from the police helicopter, but the suspect remains outstanding at this time and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Adam Conder said: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and our officers remain in the area at this time. I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have seen or heard anything in the events leading up to it to please get in contact.

“I am also particularly keen to trace a dog walker who is believed to have been in the area at the time and may have vital information that could help progress enquiries.

“Anyone with information is asked to please phone 101 quoting ISR 757 of 19 July.”
