The Abbots Langley Crafty Ladies (ALCL) have been tasked with raising funds for a refurbishment at Watford General Hospital.
West Herts Hospitals Charity (WHHC) has asked ALCL to support the revamp of a cubicle in the children’s Starfish Ward.
ALCL are inviting local schools, youth clubs and groups to join the community fundraising effort by organising a tea party, cake sale, non-uniform day or “simply adding 50p to the price of a cuppa at work!”.
Speaking to Abbots News, ALCL said: “We have also been given a Watford FC football, signed by Graham Taylor OBE, Sir Elton John, Luther Blissett OBE and many other players from the 1984 team who went to Wembley for the FA Cup Final. Signatures have been verified by Luther himself.”
A silent auction for the ball will conclude on Saturday, July 12. The reserve is set at £200. Email theabbotslangleycraftyladies@gmail.com to submit your bid.
Alison Rosen, CEO of WHHC, said: “We are incredibly grateful to ALCL for their ongoing support. Their dedication to improving the lives of our young patients is truly inspiring and we are excited to see the Abbots Langley community come together to support this wonderful cause.”
