Two men have been arrested on suspicion of engaging in sexual communication with a child.
A 27-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead and a 37-year-old man from Harrow appeared on a livestream by a group describing itself as a “child protection service” on Saturday, November 8.
In the video, it is claimed the men had travelled from Watford to Southsea in Portsmouth.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “We received a report just after 3.10pm on Saturday, November 8, that two men were attempting to meet two people they believed to be children in Southsea, after inappropriately communicating with them online.
“A 27-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead has been arrested on suspicion of engaging in sexual communication with a child and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
“A 37-year-old man from Harrow has been arrested on suspicion of engaging in sexual communication with a child.
“They have both been conditionally bailed until February 8 whilst enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances.”
