‘I’m so happy happy to have my dog Yoda back’

A Chihuahua stolen from an Aldenham car boot sale and held ransom was finally reunited with its owner. Yoda was taken from his owner whilst at a car boot sale in Aldenham Country Park in May. Two boys approached the woman; one of the boys distracted the woman whilst the other stole the dog which was tied to her car. The owner, who has asked to remain anonymous, said when she was handing out flyers about missing five-year-old Yoda at a caravan park, two boys recognised the dog, and they said she would need to pay £1,500 to get the dog back. On the DogLost website, Hazebella, the area coordinator for Hertfordshire and Essex Boarders, posted on July 19 that she had spotted the dog. She said: “Gleam of hope to get back Yoda. We met the thieves, and we have seen him. He is very skinny, dirty, scared and confused. “I sobbed, but they are very heartless, because I did not have money, unfortunately. They did not give him back to us.” A few weeks after, the owner was called by someone who had found the dog and purchased him on the owner’s behalf. The owner said: “He said that he purchased Yoda for £ 550, then he told me that he does not need extra reward, but he would like to get his money back. “We agreed to meet in a Tesco car park near Uxbridge. I immediately told (animal welfare charity) Harvey’s Army what happened, and they came by car to the address provided. We were standing at a petrol station, the Harvey’s Army (two women) was already there. The man, who I spoke by telephone, came there, and he opened the car’s boot and Yoda was there. “We were happy to together to have Yoda returned to us. It ended very happily. “Yoda is well under the circumstances. He is very thin, there are injuries on the head, and it looks as if he wanted to escape from somewhere, the wounds are side by side strips. One of the back legs is missing a nail. But he is ok.”
