Hundreds of locals joined the Bushey Chanukah Ice Fest on Sunday, December 29, to light up the town with community spirit.
The event featured a live ice carving of a colossal two-metre Menorah alongside “whimsical frozen Dreidels Ice-Land”.
The sculptor began with two enormous blocks of ice and an array of power tools including chainsaws, grinders, chisels and blow torches.
Wowing locals, the sculpture was illuminated by Rabbi Yosef Sharfstein of Bushey Chabad.
There was also a Chocolate Coin Ice Excavation, where participants could chip away at giant ice blocks to uncover chocolate, as well as an exhilarating snowboard stimulator.
The unique event was a way “to express the joy and beauty of Chanukah”.
Rabbi Yosef Sharfstein of Bushey Chabad said: “Watching the Bushey community come together in such a fun and joyful atmosphere was truly beautiful. A huge thank you goes to all the Bushey Chabad volunteers who helped put together such a memorable community event. Everyone’s asking how we can possibly top it next year!”
