Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that the cause of a fire at a property in Maple Cross is under investigation, after a man was taken to hospital.
Fire control received a call at 9.09pm yesterday evening (Wednesday, September 24) to reports of a house fire in Longmore Close.
Six appliances from Rickmansworth, Garston, Watford and Kings Langley and an aerial ladder platform were sent to the scene.
On arrival, crews found a mid-terraced property well alight and firefighters in breathing apparatus were sent into the property to search.
Crews were able control the spread to neighbouring properties but one casualty was taken to hospital by the ambulance service.
Darren Cook, Assistant Chief Fire Officer at Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Thanks to the fast and dedicated work of our control room staff and firefighters last night, crews were on the scene within six minutes and were able to contain and prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties. We worked closely with colleagues from the ambulance service and police and are grateful to the public for avoiding the area to give our crews the space they need to undertake their work.”
