Residents of a private road in Northwood have complained after work to replace gas pipes on their street was allegedly left abandoned and incomplete.
Digging up of Foxdell, just off Dene Road, apparently began a month ago without warning, with the work being carried by regional gas distribution company Cadent.
After a week or so of work, the construction team allegedly walked away from the site, and have yet to come back. Gaping holes were left in the road, which eventually flooded with water after the bouts of heavy rain in August.
According to residents, a separate company came and filled the holes in with dirt, after which another company arrived to tarmac the holes.
One disgruntled resident explained his worries to NORTHWOOD&RUISLIPnews, saying: “It’s the uncertainty. We’ve been messed around since December, when they first announced the works. It’s typical of large corporations, they just do what they like without people’s permission.”
Cadent has been contacted for comment.
