HOSPICE WALK: Michael Sobell walk reaches tenth anniversary later this year

Published on: 7th February 2020   |   By: Geraint Roberts   |   Category: Uncategorized

Michael Sobell Hospice are hoping to have over 1,000 walkers powering the streets for their 10th ‘Ladies in the Night Walk’ that’s coming up later this year.

The walk will start from Mount Vernon Hospital on Friday, June 19 and an early bird sign up offer is available at £14 per person.

Charity events manager, Ophelia Chambers-Henry, said: “Since the inpatient unit reopened, we’ve seen so many of our supporters wanting to give something back and get involved.

“This is our biggest fundraising event of the year, so it’s the perfect opportunity for everyone to get behind us and help raise vital funds for the Hospice, and the continued end of life care and support which it provides to local people in their time of need.”

“This is about celebrating 10 years of memories, and now we can look forward to making even more.”

Sponsoring the event for the third year-running is Allsop Durn Solictors, based in Ruislip.

Commenting on their support, partner David Durn, said: “I’ve lived in this area all of my life and have known patients and families who have benefited from the Hospice. I lost a colleague there in 2009 which is when I decided to raise money and assist.

“This is the third year we are supporting this event, and my wife and her team have walked the last two years. My business partner, Roz Allsop, also walked last year.

“It’s a brilliant community event that really supports the Hospice and helps to keep it going. For over 40 years, Michael Sobell has been of service to local people and beyond. It’s an invaluable resource.”
