HOME DEFEAT: Saints thrashed at Mill Meadow

Published on: 8th January 2020   |   By: Geraint Roberts   |   Category: Chalfont St Peter A.F.C

Chalfonts St Peter FC were comfortably beaten by fifth placed Tooting and Mitcham United last night following a poor first half performance from the first half.

Connor French opened the scoring for Tooting after just seven minutes and the lead was doubled not long after when Dominic Morgan-Griffiths hit a wonderful half-volley straight into the Chalfonts net.

The match was essentially over when Danny Bassett piled the misery on the home side with a goal moments before the referee was scheduled to blow the half-time whistle, after more good work from French.

A quiet second half followed, with Tooting controlling majority of the play, and a fourth goal followed with just under ten minutes remaining thanks to Jamari Brissett.

Daniel Williams did give the Saints something to shout about in the final moments of the game, but it was too little too late, and they now find themselves without a win in their last three games.

Chalfonts will get another opportunity to turn around their recent run of form when they’re back at home on Saturday as they host South Park.
