The Mayor of Hertsmere, Cllr Carey Keates, is on the lookout for school choirs in the borough with talent and oodles of enthusiasm to take part in his choral competition, helping to raise money for his two chosen charities. The competition will take place at The Ark Theatre in Borehamwood on Sunday, November 16 at 3pm and will be in aid of Kidney Research UK and Hertsmere Mencap. Cllr Keates said: “I’m thoroughly looking forward to the afternoon and hope that many local school choirs will take the opportunity to compete. Last year’s event was very well received and The Ark was packed so I hope we can repeat that success and raise a sizeable sum for these two terrific charities.” The winner will receive £250 for their school and invited to perform at the Hertsmere Civic Dinner at Elstree Studios in March next year. Entry forms are available by calling 020 82077477 or by emailing mayors.secretary@hertsmere.gov.uk
