HERTS PRIDE: 10th annual LGBTQ+ event takes places in Watford (VIDEO)

Published on: 21st August 2022   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

The 10th annual Herts Pride took place on Saturday, August 20, the largest LGBTQ+ festival in the county, with visitors enjoying the good weather in Watford’s Cassiobury Park.

Festivalgoers of all ages came to the party, where there were live performers in a festival tent, funfair rides, food and refreshments, and many stalls from many attending organisations.

Useful information for LGBTQ+ people could also be found on the day, concerning multiple subjects, such as healthcare, employment, politics, and history.

Co-founder of the event and prominent local activist, Clive Duffy, spoke about the importance of events like Herts Pride taking place.

“It’s really important. Certainly for the older generation to be able to come and enjoy themselves, and definitely for the younger generation to come and learn about Pride, what Pride means, and the organisations that are there that want to work and support them.

“It’s a one-stop shop where everybody can come and have fun, go to the bar, see the entertainment on stage, or they can go and access all the services that are available to them.”
