A popular coffee shop at the Henderson Hub in Abbots Langley is extending its opening hours.
From May 21, Elvira’s will now be open on Tuesdays as well as from Wednesday to Saturday.
To celebrate the extra day, the café is putting on a special introductory offer called Tuesday Treats, which includes a coffee and cake for £5 or tea and cake for £4.
Elvira’s can be found at the Henderson Hub on Abbots Langley High Street. It is run mainly by a team of friendly volunteers and its aim is to offer affordable and ethically made food and drink.
Speaking to ABBOTSnews, a spokesperson for the café said: “We’re delighted to be able to extend its opening hours to cover Tuesdays so we can offer local residents an extra day of our unique, warm and relaxed coffee shop.”
Elvira’s is named after Elvira Henderson, the wife of Henry Henderson, who built the original Henderson Hall over 100 years ago for the benefit of the people of Abbots Langley. Sadly, Elvira died in childbirth aged only 31. A photograph of Elvira takes pride of place in the café.
