HELP OUT: St Albans Brownies issue plea for volunteers to save unit from closure

Published on: 11th June 2021   |   By: Holly Bullen   |   Category: Uncategorized

A Brownie unit in St Albans which has served the community for 74 years urgently needs help to save it from closure.

The 11th St Albans Brownies located in St Stephen’s Church urgently need more volunteers in order for the centre to stay open.

Alison Pether whose daughters both previously attended the unit and are now leaders expressed her determination to save the group on Facebook.

She wrote: “Please help stop this well-loved unit from closing! The Brownies have a very long association with St Stephen’s. So many youngsters have enjoyed their time here.”

Leader Amy Gilbert said: “We have a small team but need one more adult helper to make things work. We all work full time, so we are looking to run a flexible leadership team which will make it easier for everyone to volunteer.

“We need this additional support to keep our active unit of 22 girls running.”
