HELP NEEDED: Chalfont St Giles Youth Club facing financial difficulties during pandemic

Published on: 1st June 2020   |   By: Amneet Kaur   |   Category: Uncategorized

Chalfont St Giles Youth Club has been facing financial difficulties because of the coronavirus outbreak.

The club – which was built in late 1945-1946 by soldiers and local families coming home from the war- plays an important role for the children in the community and they all had to learn to adapt when it had to shut its doors because of the pandemic.

Sui Jefferson, fundraiser for the club said: “COVID-19 has massively impacted the Youth Club, we’ve got outgoings with no income.

“We are 100% independent financially, we have closed the premises and reduced our bills as much as we can. The club does a lot of community events and fundraisers to keep it all going and everything’s been cancelled.

“I’ve picked up funding here and there which will guarantee the building safe but there are still other expenses, we have got no council’s backing and it’s all down to our management committee, volunteers and young people.”

You can help the club by nominating it to receive a £1000 donation on Ecclesiastical, a financial services group that gives all its profits to charity.

Visit their website to nominate them at movementforgood.com/#nominateACharity

Their charity number is 1107243. You can place them in the ‘community ‘ category as that’s the closest fit.
