Rickmansworth School is celebrating the young sporting stars of the future after two momentous sporting wins.
On Wednesday, April 2, the Under 13 girls’ football team headed to Harvesters FC in St Albans to face The Knights Templar School, after an incredible run that saw them earn a spot in the final.
Headteacher Mr M. Fletcher said: “In a nail-biting match that showcased their incredible spirit, determination and teamwork, our girls clinched the title with a thrilling 5-4 victory!
“This achievement is a testament to their unwavering commitment to training and their passion for the sport. We are immensely proud of their attitude and performance throughout the season. Congratulations!
“A big thank you to Harvesters FC for hosting, Miss Watkins for her coaching and support throughout the season, and to all the supporters who cheered our team to victory.”
On the same day, the 19th annual Chess Cup Rugby Match between Rickmansworth School and St Joan of Arc Catholic School kicked off.
Two late tries from Rickmansworth School saw the boys nab the title from their rivals.
Mr Fletcher said: “Our students, honoured to represent the school, took to the field with determination and skill. In a closely fought match, I am proud to announce that Rickmansworth School emerged victorious with a score of 27-15!
“A hearty congratulations to all participants and a special thank you to Mr Gunn and Mr Sales for their invaluable support and guidance.”
