Bedmond Bells Women’s Institute (WI) held a 1940s-themed garden party last month to celebrate 80 years since the end of the Second World War.
Music from the 1940s played in the background throughout the whole afternoon, while attendees shared plenty of smiles and laughter.
One WI member even baked a Union Jack celebration cake decorated with blueberries and raspberries.
The event was well attended and most wore 1940s-style clothing.
The Bedmond Bells apologised that they were unable to invite those who were not members to the event. However, they added that they are in the process of organising another event on Saturday, October 4, from 2pm to 4pm, which will be open to the public.
There is likely to be tea and cake, plus some crafts for sale and a raffle in the Village Hall.
