Wealdstone had to take the lead on three different occasions last night against Kings Lynn to come out with their first away victory of the season thanks to a Danny Parish hat trick.
The result pushes the Stones into the National League play-off places for the time being in what was arguably their best performance of the season so far.
Danny Parish, in his first start of the season, plunged Wealdstone into an early lead six minutes in after a brilliantly worked counterattack from the left hand side allowed him to get a shot on goal which went beyond the Kings Lynn goalkeeper.
Two minutes after the second half started, Wealdstone were pegged back after Sonny Carey’s cross found debutant Mitchell, who made no mistake with his headed finish.
Wealdstone took the lead for the second time after 67 minutes and it was Parish again who this time used his head to get on the end of a well-worked corner.
The lead didn’t last long at all though, with the second equaliser coming just three minutes later through Mitchell once again after Carey played him through with a lovely ball, and the goal scorer chipped Harry Isted to level procedures.
Around five minutes later, Wealdstone had the opportunity to go ahead once more after they were awarded a penalty.
Danny Parish stepped up for his hat trick and, despite missing his initial effort, tapped home the rebound.
Wealdstone held on this time to take home all three points and continue their strong start to life in the National League.
The Stones are away once again on Saturday as they face Halifax Town.
