Harrow Council have decided to honour the ‘incredible work’ by key workers and volunteers across the borough during the pandemic
They have invited residents to join in with the special Harrow’s Heroes awards, which this year will be a little different to normal, with the ceremony taking place online.
Each week throughout September, the council will be revealing the nominees on their social media channels, Twitter and Facebook.
Councillor Sue Anderson, cabinet member for community engagement and accessibility, said: “Those on the front line in the battle against COVID-19 must rightly be recognised as heroes – and we have our fair share of them in the borough.
“This online celebration of their efforts and those of others who have done some amazing volunteering work, recognises their selfless spirit and community action – and is our way of saying thank you.”
