The saying “hair holds memories” rings true, but for one brave Watford resident, shaving his locks was about creating even more meaningful ones.
Determined to make a difference one charity event at a time, Paul Davies recently took on Brave the Shave to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support. Supporters gathered at the Tudor Arms pub in Watford on Friday, April 3, to cheer Paul on.
On his donation page ahead of the event, Paul said: “One in every two people has been affected, either directly or indirectly, by this awful plight. Help me help this wonderful charity by donating whatever you can afford. Each pound we raise together will go towards a person who needs support.”
Macmillan’s fundraising manager for London and the South East Becky Turner-Knowles said: “When supporters like Paul take on a Macmillan fundraising challenge, they inspire others to get involved too, whether by donating or taking on a challenge of their own.
“It’s this support and determination that helps us do whatever it takes for people living with cancer, and we couldn’t be more thankful.”
