More flats are planned for a key Bushey street after an application to convert a former tyre shop was approved.
The former Bushey Tyre Centre at 46 Sparrows Herne, a family-run business that served the community for two decades, is currently the site of five flats.
The application, made by Decent Goodfellow Architects, sought to change the use of the commercial ground floor into three further one-bedroom dwellings.
Hertsmere Borough Council (HBC) approved the plans on August 2, which fits the growing trend of the street.
Bushey Tyre Centre’s neighbour at 42 Sparrows Herne is the site of the former Royal Oak pub, which closed in 2020.
Despite the efforts of the local community, the much-loved pub is also in the process of being turned into flats, with works beginning in October of last year.
HBC and Decent Goodfellow Architects have been contacted for comment.
