Watford Water Polo, based at Woodside Leisure Centre in Garston, have yet more news to celebrate following a phenomenally successful 2025.
Three of the club’s 2009 squad, Rishi, Theodoras and Ilija, have now successfully trialled for the U18 GB training squad.
The three under 18s recently participated in their second training camp with the long-term goal of being selected to represent their country at the European Championships in summer 2027. Their selection marks an exciting new chapter in their sporting journey.
The club celebrated a number of successes throughout 2025, including winning the Swim England Herts Junior Tournament for the fourth year in a row, claiming the Winter League Division 1 Championship title, and finishing as runners-up in the Swim England National Age Group Finals.
Last year, their men’s and women’s teams were promoted to the British Water Polo Division 1 for the first time in the club’s history.
One of their members, Dušan Crompton, was also selected for Great Britain’s U20 squad and will compete in the U20 European Water Polo Championships in August 2026.
