GREAT RESULT: Chorleywood school’s golf superstars come eighth in competition final

Three upcoming golf stars from St Clement Danes School secured eighth place at the school’s team golf final, held at the well-known golf course Woodhall Spa last month.

Luke Mansour, Ollie Robinson and Yash Bid, who won the Hertfordshire event earlier this year, persevered throughout the competition despite facing extremely hot conditions.

Ollie and Yash managed to achieve 17th place in the individual standings, despite facing tough competition against 120 juniors who had “very” high handicaps. The team of three came eighth overall.

Speaking to Chorleywood News, coach Louise Robinson admitted she was worried about how they would get on due to the intense heat, but they persevered and made sure all the boys were fully hydrated and found shade where they could.

Louise shared that it was a “great result for the boys” as they all contributed to bringing home a great result.

St Clement Danes School now has 12 boys who are led by captain Josh Robinson, who will compete in different golfing events at various levels depending on ability. This includes an upcoming annual school golf competition which is open to all students and teachers with a golf handicap.

Louise said: “I think the boys will realise that they can compete in the toughest of conditions and will look forward to hopefully returning to try again next year.”
