For many the start of the new year hasn’t been the fresh start they expected as England entered lockdown for the third time on January 4.
There is hope on the horizon however as the COVID-19 vaccine rollout is well underway with vaccination centres opening across Hertfordshire.
This is also the case for Hemel Hempstead as a COVID-19 vaccination centre opened today (Thursday, January 7).
Local residents aged 80 and over, plus people living and working in care homes, along with health and social care workers are attending the centre in Imex House in Maxted Road, on the Hemel Hempstead industrial estate.
Residents across the county are being asked to wait their turn to be invited for the vaccine at their local vaccination centre with the first doses going to priority groups.
